Trying to get back to "normal" after IKE!

I've been just trying to get back to some sort of "normal" since IKE hit. We were so very lucky to not receive too much damage from the hurricane that caused so much devastation. We lost about a dozen shingles off the roof so we have the insurance adjuster coming to inspect that. Our beautiful weeping willow tree was just about shredded on half of it, we still haven't decided if we are going to take it completely out or see if it will come back. And of course like so many others, we lost everything that was in our fridge and deep freeze. We were w/o electricity for 4 1/2 days, again very lucky as some around us are still w/o it!!

I've tried to do a few little sewing projects when I have had just a little bit of time. I had made my friend the camera strap that I posted about earlier and needed to mail that to her so I went ahead and made a dog collar for her dog and a little zip pouch and key fob for her mom(my friend too!!). For the zipper pouch and fob I used fabrics that we had picked out for me to make a purse for her. Her birthday was recently so I thought this was a good gift for her and for her to see how the fabrics looked in person together. I also sent a couple card cases to put her business cards in for her new paper crafting business.

A couple new pretties--for the dog and your camera!!

I have seen camera straps made before and wanted to make some myself but could never find the hardware! I finally found it the other day and ordered some! It was waiting for me when I got home yesterday after my weekend getaway! So today I made this camera strap for myself!(or if my dear friend likes it I am sending it to her!!!) Love all these Amy Butler fabrics. There are ten different fabrics making up this comfy strap!

On Sunday I made a dog collar for our sweet dog Sparkle! This was just a quick one to try it out! And trying to get the dog to sit still for a picture was FUN!!!

Look for both these items to show up in some form or another in my etsy shop soon!
