Long time no update.......tis the season!

Life has been crazy as usual! That should be no excuse for not updating! (And this has turned into a VERY long post!!)

It seems like December 1st gets here and all heck breaks loose with all kinds of things to do! Neighborhood Christmas parties, Bunco parties, gearing up for the kid's class parties, I know I am not the only one!

We were able to go last weekend down to Bolivar with a group from our church to help with a Christmas Celebration at one of the Methodist Churches there. My husband had been down there one Saturday helping with some clean up efforts and been able to see it first hand, but this was the first time for the girls and I. SO very sad to see it with my own eyes. I knew it was bad, but as we got farther in on the peninsula and was able to see some of the places that we have frequented for the last 3 summers, I cried! Yes, I was sad about it, but I was crying for all that was lost there, the loss of so very much!! Bolivar will always be a special place for us, we have so many good memories there. The people that we encountered each time we were there were always so friendly and nice. Bolivar will come back, it will just take time and lots of prayer!

Here is just one of the pics I took, this is where the beach house stood that we had rented the last 2 summers. It was 3rd row. Nothing left but the slab. The man that owned this lost his three other houses as well.
Oh and it SNOWED here on Wednesday!!! In HOUSTON we had SNOW!!!!!!!!! I don't know who was more excited me or the kids!

Here are a few projects that I have been working on.
This is a pillowcase that my oldest gave her sweet friend for her birthday last week. This is different than the ones I had done before but LOVE it so much better than the others!!!

A few small zip pouch/key fob combos that a friend ordered to give as teacher gifts. You can find all of these in my my etsy shop

This is a cute little Christmas card case. Perfect to give a gift card in or hold your business cards or credit cards, also in my etsy shop. I made this towel and pot holder set to take for the gift exchange at the neighborhood ladies Christmas party.
These towels I'm keeping for ME!!

New Camera Strap!

I recently made this camera strap to add to my etsy shop. It is made with 12 different Amy Butler and Heather Bailey fabrics. It is usually so hard for me to pick just one fabric for something so this time I just used all 12!! Oh and this one has a PINK nylon webbing strap to attach to your camera instead of the normal black, FUN!!
This second strap was a custom order for a customer in Hawaii for her son, I thought these fabrics were perfect!

KEY FOBS and CARD CASES GALORE!!!

I have been bad about updating lately, it's just been so crazy!

There are way too many projects I would like to do and not enough time or energy!!! :) (I just need longer days!!)

Here are some key fobs that I have made recently and some of the card cases I did for an order.
Both of these items make GREAT gifts! A friend just bought a few of the key fobs that she is going to tie on the top of presents. I love using mine! It really helps if I have my hands full, I have that on my wrist already and can easily unlock my car without having to dig in my purse!

The card cases have MULTIPLE uses!! You can use them for your business cards, carry your credit cards/ID, or give that special someone a gift card in a cute "envelope" they can re-use!!! My daughters use one in their lunch boxes to hold their ice cream money so it doesn't scatter all over the place.

This is just a small sampling of the ones I did for this order and have some available in my etsy shop!

I haven't been posting much latey.........

but I have been busy sewing!

My youngest daughter's birthday party was last weekend and we had her party here at home. We could not have asked for more perfect weather for her backyard carnival birthday party!!

I didn't get pictures of them but I made the party favor bags out of some cute fun fabric I found at wal-mart. And then I decided that I was not going to pay $20 for a plastic pennant flag thing to string up outside along the path to the backyard so I made one of those too! I made one for under $5! I will have to pull them out and take pics later they all turned out so cute!
I embellished an outfit for my daughter as part of her birthday present. She had kind of helped pick out the fabrics that I would use, Farmer's Market by Sandi Henderson. I absolutely love these fabrics, they are so bright and vivid!!

I will post some more tomorrow on the other things that I have been busy making!
Thanks for visiting!!!

In Loving Memory...

My Grandmother passed away on Sunday, October 26th. She was 91 years old! She lived at home until last December. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days visiting with her the week before she died. My Grandmother and Grandad raised my brother and I, so she was more like my mother than Grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and who I learned a lot of my sewing skills from. I know she had me rip out many stitches!!! I am so very sad to have lost her but know that she is no longer in pain and now gets to see the Lord!!

New camera strap and zip pouch set

I am usually a procrastinator, yes almost always, but I actually finished up my sweet SIL's birthday present before her birthday!! But we didn't get to get together to celebrate til today.
I made her a custom camera strap, it's made with fabric that is from Basic Grey Urban Couture line. They make the fabulous scrapbook papers that we are always drooling over!!!
And I also made her a zip pouch and matching key fob out of this great B&W damask print fabric.

I think she liked her gift!!! I told it couldn't be returned!!! :)

Finally made something for myself!

Well, I finally decided it was time to actually make something for myself! I recently started a Bible study at my church. We are doing the Beth Moore "Stepping Up". It is a great one so far!

So I thought it would be good for me to have a bag that I could use just for keeping my Bible study materials in.

I found this beautiful Amy Butler and Heather Bailey fabric at a local shop the other day and a friend that was with me pointed out the cross fabric! Perfect for this project!

I really liked the way this one turned out and am so excited that I actually get to keep and use this one!

TWO NEW CAMERA STRAPS!

I've been working on a few new camera straps in between some other orders.

This first one is a OOAK strap! This was a custom order and there will not be another like this one! I had just these squares of this fabric. It is Amy Butler Midwest Modern line of fabrics.
This second one will be showing up in my shop today! It is done with fabrics from the Urban Chicks "Summer in the City" fabric line from Moda.

Biker Burp Cloths

I made these burp cloths for a friend in my bunco group. I am going to go back and add the babies name now that he is here!
I thought these "biker" prints were too cute!
